hello darling

It's Valentine's week, one of the busiest times of the year when you work at a chocolate shop.  I still had some time to make some cards though, and this one will be linked to the Card Concept (use monochromatic pink), Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (have a heart), and CAS-ual Fridays (over the edge).

This clean and simple card is for my aunt.  She's the youngest of all my mom's siblings, the baby of the family if you will, so we call her Auntie Baby.  She's a retired nurse who helped deliver many, many, many babies.  How fitting to have a cute teddy bear on her card from Mama Elephant's Nursery Deco stamp set.

Wishing my aunt and everyone a happy Valentine's Day!  Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:
Stamps: Mama Elephant (Nursery Deco, Party Kit, Filigree)

Just a quick post and entry into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge -- Have a Heart.  This card is going into the mail today...a Valentine's Day card for my mom:)

Thanks for taking a look!

butterfly puzzle

I'm joining the fun at the CAS(E) this Sketch and Runway Inspired Challenges with this butterfly thank you card:

I recently saw a video by Laura Bassen (here), where she glued a bunch of small die-cuts from a larger die.  The effect was so cool and well worth the time and effort, so I decided to try the same thing with my butterfly die.

Piecing the wing bits together back together into the intricate butterfly frame was oddly enjoyable...honestly, it reminded me of one of my favorite games as a child: Operation!!!

Finished my card off with a label from the DYMO label maker I "borrowed" from my sister;)

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Inks: Memento Luxe (lilac posies, nautical blue); Delicata (golden glitz)
Die: Simon Says Stamp Devonshire Butterfly
Other: Wink of Stella glitter brush (clear); DYMO label maker

coffee and donuts

I am thrilled to be the guest designer at CASology this week.  Wow, what an honor!

This week's cue word is "and", which of course gave me the opportunity to make one of those witty "we go together like..." cards.  I pulled out my stash of food stamps and came up with this:

Really though, who doesn't love coffee and donuts?  It's a bit dangerous that there are three Dunkin' Donuts shops within a 5 minute walk from my place.

***Edited to add: I miscounted.  There are actually four Dunkin' Donut shops within a 5 minute walk from my place.  Yikes!

I kept my card clean and simple by using a minimal color scheme and just a few embellishments.  Hope you like it, and hope it didn't make you too hungry:)

Come play along with us at CASology and have a fun time!!!
